Q: How do I find a Realtor in my area that specializes in HUD homes?
?Anonymous, Cedar Creek, TX
A: First, I would encourage you, if you are considering foreclosures, to not limit yourself to HUD properties ? there are many great foreclosures that are Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, VA, bank owned, etc
To buy a HUD home, you must use a HUD approved Realtor. To find one in your area, go to http://www.hudhomestore.com/hud/BrokerSearch.aspx?sLanguage=ENGLISH. Hope that helps.
Dale Weir is a Realtor? with Coldwell Banker Gundaker in Chesterfield, MO.
A: Hello in Southwest Austin!
Cedar Creek is within the area served by the Austin Board of Realtors. If you go to their website (abor.com) and ?Find a Member? who has the specialty of ?Residential Sales? in 78612, the site pulls up half a dozen names. There?s a good chance that at least one of those agents can handle a HUD transaction.
You can also use Realtor.com to ?Find a Realtor.? Again, there aren?t too many in 78612. You can page through those, read their bios, and choose one that you like!
In the Austin area, most agents who have been in the business for more than a few years have dealt with at least one HUD transaction. It?s time consuming, and requires attention to detail, but it?s not terribly difficult.
Good luck! ?Julie
