There Is Simply No End To The Steak Frites At Garces Trading Co ...

Though nothing short of ?Free Sex? jumps out as us like ?Endless?, those belt-loosening establishments usually manifest themselves as establishments with the words Buffet or Corral where they offer gloppy chafing dishes of fatty starches or starchy fats. To see the word appear at a respectable, why-don?t-you-put-on-your-nice-shirt bistro like Garces Trading Company has us skipping lunch in anticipation. Chef Jose Garces was recently in Southern France and has decided to bring back ?Endless Steak Frites? for us to enjoy.

?This summer, my family and I traveled to Provence to celebrate my birthday, and I fell in love with French bistro fare all over again,? says Chef Garces, a James Beard Award winner who is also one of Food Network?s Iron Chefs and regularly competes on Iron Chef America. ?This rustic-yet-decadent meal is my fond tribute to the exceptional steak frites we enjoyed abroad.?

The Steak Frites meal, which is served during lunch and dinner, starts with a green salad and includes endless grilled hanger steak, served alongside house duck fat French fries with a choice of three sauces: B?arnaise, an emulsification of egg yolk and clarified butter with white wine vinegar; Bordelaise, a port wine reduction with veal demiglace and bone marrow; and Sauce au Poivre Vert, a creamy green peppercorn sauce made with brandy and Dijon mustard. Guests order their steak cooked to the temperature they prefer, and unlimited, additional servings are available upon request. At just $25 per person, plus tax and gratuity, it is one of the city?s most affordable steak dinners.

Garces Trading Company offers a plethora of beverages to enjoy with the steak frites ranging from the innovative house-bottled carbonated cocktails to craft beers and sangria or a selection from the European wine list. Guests are also welcome to purchase a bottle of wine from the on-site wine boutique. After the first bottle, there is a $10 corkage fee per bottle.

So come hungry, and if you?re gonna wear sweatpants, at least make them velour.
